Taha Hinengaro

Taha Hinengaro is our mental and emotional well-being. It relates to how we feel about ourselves, our feelings and how we understand what they mean and how we handle them.

During lockdown I have been feeling bored and annoyed because I can't go to school and play with friends. I have also felt happy from spending time with my family.

Ways I can improve my mental health and feel better about myself are breathing, telling myself "water off a duck's back" , "don't sweat the small stuff", going for a beach walk and going for a bike ride.

  1. I love your affirmation cards that you have created Anthony! They are perfect! You have such a positive attitude and can identify a variety of ways to help lift your mood when you're feeling a bit down. I hope you are using your affirmation cards, which is your favourite?

  2. Did you think to create these cards yourself ? I love them ! These cards are a good reminder of : who we are and what makes us special ... and better still to re-visit these values when things are not going to plan or if we are feeling a little low. You are amazing Anthony !!

  3. Kia ora Anthony, wow this is something that I think everyone should do. In lockdown we feel lots and lots of different emotions and sometimes we don't know why we feel that way and how to deal with it. These cards are just perfect and I bet you've been putting them to good use. Hopefully you can share them when we are back to school as I think they remind us that we are important and we can do it, great mahi!
